橄榄,又名青果,因果实尚呈青绿色时即可供鲜食而得名。《滇南本草》说它:“治一切喉火上炎”。《本草纲目》亦载:“治咽喉痛,咀嚼咽汁。”冬春季节,每日嚼食2~3枚鲜橄榄,可防止上呼吸道感染,故民间有“冬春橄榄赛人参”之誉。
